Bovieda.com was developed with the online community in mind. I strive to provide a platform where community members can advertise free of charge. But this concept also comes at a price. Let's face it, the cost of running a website is not entirely zero cost. Admittedly if you don't take into account paying the website developer (me), the website architect (me), tester (me), designer (me), the business analyst (me), website administrator (me), the marketer (also me) and many other hats I wear, the cost of hosting a website is very reasonable but nevertheless the cost that I have to endure deducting from my monthly paycheck. I also know there are many smart people in the online community who can also help pitch in to make this website a success. I want to harness the power of the people. You don't have to be technically savvy to contribute here. At Bovieda.com, imagination can become a reality. There are no such thing as silly idea. Your idea or contribution, though may not have direct financial reward, if accepted, will be credited as the contributer to the idea.
People once said to me the public are not so forthcoming when it comes to helping each other. I, for one, do not quite agree with that statement. Yes, there may be some who are not so helpful. Perhaps they might have been burnt by being so. I have been through that situation too. Many many times. But I will not let my past experiences stop me from helping people. I believe if one day people stops helping each other, the world will become a harder place to live than it is now.
There are many ways you can help contribute to Bovieda.com.
- Help me spread Bovieda.com through word of mouth. I have provided several plugins Tell your friends and other similar tools in all pages (see header page above) to assist you to help spread the word around.
- Your monetary donation can help to keep the ongoing development of Bovieda.com. I would hope one day I can continue to develop this website in a full time basis with several like-minded people. I have a lot of passion, vision and ideas for Bovieda.com. This is only the beginning. Watch this space.
- For those webdesigners who can contribute, we have a spot for you too. One of my visions for Bovieda.com is to have its website layout changes every day. This is where you come in. As you can see I am a tat hopeless in design, the layouts of this website was 'borrowed' from several free CSS template sites as evident in the footer of Bovieda.com. Please follow the Free CSS Templates for guideline. I prefer a simple 3-column layout for the website but I wouldn't say no to any design that comply to Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera and Internet Explorer v6 and above browsers. If your design is accepted it will be published with your credit url in the footer that links to your website. It is good advertising tool to drive customers to your site too.
- By participating in the Banner Exchange Design and showcase your graphic design talent. Your design, if accepted, will be credited in the Banner Exchange page. It's another way for me to say thank you and also an opportunity for you to have free advertising.
- By participating in the Banner Exchange Programme where we'll put your website's banner in Bovieda.com in exchange for ours. Contact us for more details.
- Hey, game developers, you will have your chance to contribute/showcase your artwork here. This website was developed in php, smarty template engine, some javascripts, some ajax and MySQL. As long as your game module can run on this, I would like to hear from you using the Contact us page.
- You can also help to promote this website printing the promotional flyers and manually pin the them at your local community notice board, student board, etc or by street distribution in your area. It's good to see Bovieda.com going global and to the corner your street. The limitation is only restricted by your imagination. Actually I've come as far as I can go with a shoe string budget and I am proud to bring you Bovieda.com after a year of research and development, spending my time after working hours (I still hold a full-time job) and weekends coding. I thank my wonderful wife for being patient and supportive of my vision without which will not be possible. This website is my dedication to you, the online community and my wife. The keyword is 'community' and not 'corporate'. Yes, there are many mountains to climb and I hope to count on your support and contribution. Together we can make the big corporate websites tremble ;-)
